Three different questions

Availability asks whether a platform blocks a location. Licensing asks whether a regulator has authorised an operator. The legality of a specific person’s conduct depends on facts and law. An answer to the first question is not an answer to the other two.

As of 1 August 2026, we did not find Polymarket on the GCGRA public licensee page. Registers can change, so this page shows the check date and links to the live record.

02

What the regulator says

GCGRA describes itself as the federal authority for commercial gaming and warns consumers and service providers about unlicensed operators. Its description of regulated activity is broad and covers multiple chance- or skill-based activities involving money or value.

This site does not label Polymarket licensed, approved, or legal in the UAE.

GCGRA advertising standards address direct and indirect promotion and include specific Arabic-language restrictions. Their application to an independent affiliate publisher requires legal review; adding a disclaimer alone does not resolve the publication question.

If your decision involves funding, trading, or promotion, obtain advice from a qualified UAE lawyer first.

How to use this evidence

Start with the live regulator register, then check Polymarket terms and geographic restrictions on the day you decide. Do not use a VPN or another method to bypass a restriction.

  • Access is not a licence.
  • Being 21 or older does not establish legality.
  • General information is not legal advice.

What does the live UAE licence register show?

GCGRA states that only businesses and individuals holding a valid GCGRA licence are authorised to conduct commercial gaming business in the UAE. In the public register checked on 1 August 2026, Coin Technology Projects LLC appeared in the Internet Gaming and Sports Wagering categories; the Polymarket name did not appear.

This supports only the narrow conclusion that Polymarket was not listed by that name at the time of checking. It is not a case-specific legal opinion about an individual user, transaction, promotional activity, or possible enforcement outcome.

  • Check the live register immediately before making a decision.
  • Search for both the consumer brand and the operator's legal entity.
  • Treat website availability and the platform's blocked-country list as access policies, not UAE authorisation.
05

What does the regulator's warning say?

GCGRA advises UAE residents to avoid unlicensed lottery and commercial gaming activities. Its consumer notice identifies risks including lack of consumer protection, fraud, financial loss, cybersecurity threats, and possible regulatory or criminal investigation.

The public pages do not contain a Polymarket-specific determination. Whether those statements apply to a particular product or reader requires qualified UAE legal advice.

A working link or the UAE being absent from a platform block list is not a GCGRA licence.

Frequently asked questions

Does the UAE not being blocked mean Polymarket is legal?

No. A blocked-country list describes platform access policy, not permission from a UAE regulator.

Is Polymarket listed by GCGRA?

We did not find it on the public list checked on 1 August 2026. Follow the source link for the current record.
